We provide operating funding to a number of specially targeted platforms and services to create and deliver audio/visual public media content of particular cultural and social value.
The Platforms stream is a closed fund. We do not accept unsolicited applications and will rarely fund new platforms.

With the exception of RNZ, which has its funding set by Ministers, all other funded platforms and services must submit annual funding applications.

NZ On Air will adopt a new single strategy and single media fund from July 1 2017, after receiving overwhelming support for the new approach from stakeholders.
Six new online and interactive documentaries will cover a broad range of NZ culture and issues on a range of a platforms. The projects were selected from a particularly competitive field.
